Seeing a need to plant a church on the near north side in urban Indianapolis, Apostle (Dr.) Wade D. Sloss assigned ordained Elder Alvis Bond for the task. With nothing more than a dilapidated building for its church location and the membership of his wife and daughters, Pastor Bond, in 1993, set-about raising up New Life Center Tabernacle Holiness Church, a church that would minister to the needs of a community infested with crime and drugs, under the auspices of Bishop Philemon Turner, Tabernacle Holiness Church Ministries, Memphis, TN. As a result of his and his wife’s commitment, New Life blossomed to over 50 members by the year 2000. As a Pentecostal church, New Life functions under the belief in God’s redeeming and saving power!

As of December 2012, New Life Center Tabernacle Holiness Church moved back in to its newly renovated space.

After his son, Kenneth, who has been married to his wife Denise (White) for over 30 years, retired from the military and returned to Indianapolis in 2008, Pastor Bond began to delegate some of the leadership responsibility of the church to him, who was yet to move into fulltime ministry; however, he’d functioned as a music minister throughout his time in the military (and before). Called into fulltime ministry in 2011, Kenneth began to take more of a leadership role in New Life, and in 2014, after the passing of his mother (the Senior Pastor’s wife of over 60 years), he was appointed assistant/executive pastor to oversee the organization of the church. Finishing his M.Div., in 2015, Kenneth was poised for more.
